Parents
Understand your child’s learning before you choose
Explore teachers, subjects and QSquads before registering. Review who will teach your child, what they will learn and when sessions take place.
Your role
Choose well, invite or link with consent, stay involved
What a parent or guardian can do on edsoQ, and what to check along the way.
Make an informed choice
Check the intended age or learner level, curriculum, teaching language, teacher profile, learning outcomes and fees. Do not rely only on a course title.
Invite a new learner under 18
Use your own edsoQ account — it starts as a student account like everybody’s — choose Link a child, confirm you are their parent or guardian and make an invitation. Your child registers with that link after reading what you will be able to see; it works once and expires, and their account is then linked to yours. This invitation is required only for learners under 18. From their 18th birthday, they may register independently without a parent or guardian invitation.
Link an existing account
If your child already has an edsoQ account, of any age, send an invitation from Link a child. It shows as Waiting for acceptance, and nothing is shared with you until the student accepts; an unanswered one expires and can be sent again. A student can also send you an invitation link.
Stay involved
Once they accept, see your child’s sessions, attendance and payments, set spending controls, approve what they ask to join, and book QSquads for them — they are the learner, you are the payer. Your own learning, and any teaching, stay in their own areas of the same account.
Understand payments
A learner under 18 does not add funds; you pay for their places from your wallet. Prices are in Creds, each with a fixed US dollar value, added by card in US dollars or your own currency. Creds cannot be withdrawn as cash; refunds return to your wallet as Creds.
Support safe participation
Discuss privacy and respectful communication with your child. Help them recognise concerns and use reporting or support channels when needed.
Sending an invitation gives you no access on its own. Nothing about your child’s learning is shown to you until they accept it — a waiting, expired or declined invitation shows nothing.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can my child sign up on their own?
Not if they are under 18: they must register through a valid invitation from a parent or guardian’s edsoQ account. From their 18th birthday, they may register independently without that invitation. Linking an existing account to a parent or guardian, at any age, still requires the student to accept, and turning 18 never ends a link by itself.
Is linking an existing account automatic?
No. The student must accept your invitation. Until they do, you see nothing about their learning. Accepting confirms the connection on edsoQ; it is not proof of parenthood or legal guardianship.
Can my child leave a QSquad?
Yes, until joining and leaving close, 24 hours before the first session. The amount held is then released in full. After that, the place is paid for and cannot be cancelled.
Where do I report a concern?
Signed in, open a ticket from Support or use the report option on the item. Signed out, use the Contact form. Include the QSquad and session details without sharing unnecessary personal information.
